Imagine the excitement of walking on board and in the deep bowels of these vessels. You really get a feeling of the living conditions, and confined quarters that the sailors experienced. Don’t just learn about history live it.

With the several different exhibits available you can sound the diving board on the Submarine Lionfish and you can crank the handle wheels of the big Mamie’s 40 mm guns as if you are knocking enemy planes from the sky. You can pass through the famous USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. destroyer and learn about the unmanned helicopter that hunted Soviet submarines. You can climb aboard a high-speed Missile Corvette that the Soviets designed to fight against us. There are PT boats on exhibit and the PT boats were pound for pound the most heavily armed vessel in World War II. In the bowels of the USS Massachusetts the Army has shells on display. Learn how they shot these one-time shells nearly 20 miles you can visit the projectile platform on the Big Mamie (this is the nick name for the USS Massachusetts).

They have a cobra attack helicopter on exhibit on the grass outside near one of the landing crafts that was used in World War II. There really is so much to see and visit here. Plan on this being a day trip and make the most of it enjoy all the exhibits and educational information displayed and feel firsthand by being on the decks and inside the ships what the sailors in World War II experience.

The exhibits and education does not stop here. This is a hands-on learning experience that is great for the whole family. So plan your trip to the Battleship Cove you will love it.

Places to stay in Augusta Georgia the Baymont Inn and Suites review

When traveling to Augusta Georgia you want to know what the best places to stay are. I am currently staying in the Baymont Inn and Suites, the address is 2905 River West Dr., Augusta, GA 30907. When traveling for pleasure, leisure or work I would highly recommend this Baymont Inn and Suites.

Many of us traveling for work and our careers we are often subject to our company choosing where we stay. Upon arriving here I realized I found a great place to stay in Augusta Georgia. I was fortunate that my company found this place for me to stay.

So I thought that I would share this great find with you. As we all know hotels and motels vary in quality from region to region and if you are ever in the Augusta Georgia area this is one comfortable nice place to stay that comes highly recommended.

I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in this place is roomy open clean and comfortable. The beds in this hotel are extremely comfortable as well. The Internet access is very satisfactory and the choices for TV programs are great also.

So if you’re Augusta Georgia looking for a great place to get some rest feel comfortable that they will in and suites comes highly recommended from a frequent traveler who has seen many different quality places to stay.

I should also mention that this area provides many great places to eat. I found the restaurants in this area to be diverse and high quality. And when you’re traveling you want to find some good eats have a few drinks relax in a good atmosphere and feel like you would want to come back to the restaurant again because you had a good experience.

The one restaurant that stands out the most is that Veracruz Mexican restaurant in this area there appears to be to in Augusta however the one that I visited and more than once is just down the road from where I’m staying. I found the food to be outstanding and the price was right very inexpensive and the atmosphere was lively. Tasty food and beverages they have a great selection of both so if you are in the area of this Baymont Inn and Suites you must visit the Veracruz Mexican restaurant just down the road.
